About the program
Launched in the third quarter of 1999 and inspired by our Heroes on the Home Front television campaign, the BAYADA Hero Program is one of many programs devoted to recognizing and rewarding those employees who maintain the highest standards of safety and care in home health services. The program was established to recognize our home health care professionals who consistently demonstrate the core values of The BAYADA Way. Their work epitomizes our mission of helping people have a safe home life with comfort, independence, and dignity by providing the highest quality home health care services available.
Julie Pergolizzi | BAYADA RN Hero of the Year 2019
Julie has been a devoted member of the PAO nursing team since 1999. She’s naturally able to connect with others, and easily forms meaningful relationships, such as the bond she forged with a client in spring 2018. Julie has a true gift for celebrating her clients, putting them and their families at ease, and doing it all with a demeanor of compassion and love.
"To care so much about someone else and about their needs and their overall well-being, to put that above your own and to be able to sacrifice that for another person is really incredible."
KC Jones, BAYADA Director
Dr. John Petrides | BAYADA PT Hero of the Year 2019
Since 2017, John has worked nothing short of miracles with many clients at his assigned facility. Residents under his care are less likely to be hospitalized, and he is always willing to educate their caregivers on the best techniques to keep their residents safe and as independent as possible.
"John is able to work with his clients and instead of seeing those disabilities as obstacles, he sees them as opportunities."
Kim R., BAYADA Area Director

Edward Cole | BAYADA LPN Hero of the Year 2019
From the moment he enters their homes with his trademark smile, to the moment before he leaves for the day—and beyond—Edward is present with his young clients and their families. Many parents have expressed Ed’s and his clients’ mutual enthusiasm for each other, and the deep impact his uplifting presence has on the day-to-day lives of those to whom he provides care. The foundation of Ed’s ability to impart such amazing care is clearly love. His goal, in addition to keeping his charges health and safe, is to bring light, joy, and ease to every home he enters.
