Commitment to Our Community

We open our arms to embrace all the members of our community. We are dedicated to fostering a culture of acceptance and belonging for all individuals. We value everyone’s differences, appreciate their unique perspectives, and admire the richness that diversity brings. And we treat every person with the same dignity and respect we wish for ourselves.

This commitment begins with being continuously mindful of the need to listen, share, and learn. We want to ensure BAYADA is a place where every employee feels like they belong and can thrive — and in return, each of our clients receives the same outstanding level of personalized care and compassion.

BAYADA Employee Spotlight

Kiara Herth's journey toward embracing her authentic self has been anything but easy. Despite the challenges, her courage to come out as transgender in 2020 marked a significant step forward. While faced with rejection from many family members, she found solace and support among her community and coworkers. In fact, her initial coming out was on a BAYADA webcast. Despite Kiara’s initial uncertainties, her colleagues rallied around her, embracing her name and pronoun changes with understanding and compassion. “I can’t tell you how much joy and power there is in being seen,” she says. These experiences empowered Kiara to join BAYADA's Employee Resource Councils (ERC) where she supports others facing similar challenges.

Kiara now serves as co-chair of the Pride ERC, which reflects her commitment to fostering inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive authentically. Through her advocacy, she aims to raise awareness and promote understanding, recognizing that embracing diversity makes us collectively stronger. As she points out, “Awareness can help drive change for everyone, not just a majority or minority.” As she navigates her transition, Kiara emphasizes the importance of empathy and recognizing the value in experiencing different perspectives. “We can all have biases or prejudices in ways that we don’t recognize,” she says. But “we all, every single one of us, deserve to live our truest lives.”
