What is an RBT?
A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who works one-on-one with people with autism or others who would benefit from applied behavior analysis therapy. RBTs have the opportunity to:
- Work one-on-one with clients to improve behaviors, build skills, and gain independence
- Provide therapy in clients' homes, schools, community settings, or in our specially equipped centers
- Build relationships with clients and help track their progress

Join the RBT Academy
Receive paid training and certification through BAYADA's RBT Academy. Through the RBT Academy, you'll have access to:
- Interactive Lectures and Online Modules: Approximately 12 hours of interactive lectures and 11 online modules are provided, where participants engage in discussions, watch ABA video models, and practice skills.
- Experiential Clinic: Using a Behavioral Skills Training (BST) approach, you will apply the skills you learn in real-world scenarios, through modeling, rehearsal, and feedback.
- Comprehensive Support: You will receive extensive support throughout the training process, including guidance from experienced professionals.

RBT Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to become an RBT at BAYADA, you are required to meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Pass a background check
- Complete a paid, 40-hour RBT training with BAYADA
- Successfully complete the RBT Initial Competency Assessment
- Pass the RBT certification exam

RBT Career Growth Opportunities
