Medical Social Work Careers

As a BAYADA Medical Social Worker, you can choose to specialize in hospice care, guiding patients and families to community resources and counseling services, sharing your end-of-life planning expertise, and even assisting with life celebrations and memorial services. Or, you can specialize in short-term home health care, helping clients transition from hospital to home, cope with new diagnoses, and connect with community resources to help them recover from a medical setback, manage a chronic condition, or live as well and independently as possible with disability.

No matter your practice specialty, you’ll be appreciated for the role you play in assisting your team in understanding the social and emotional factors related to our clients’ health. You’ll provide clinical social evaluations and plan appropriate interventions, including identifying community resource referrals and advocating for both the client and the family to navigate through the community system. In-home family education is a key component of your role, empowering them to take charge of their health, safety, well-being, and independent living.
